Geospatial Coordinate Converter

Convert WGS84 latitude, longitude and ellipsoidal height to DMS, ECEF and downloadable GeoJSON, directly in your browser.

Coordinate lab / WGS84Decimal degrees → DMS / ECEF / GeoJSON

Enter a coordinate

−90 to 90. South is negative.

−180 to 180. West is negative.

Height above the WGS84 ellipsoid, not mean sea level. Supported range: −1,000 to 10,000,000 m.

Enter your own values. This tool does not request device location or send coordinates to a server.

GeoJSON feature

Coordinate order is longitude, latitude, ellipsoidal height. ECEF values are displayed in metres.

One point, three useful representations

Decimal degrees are convenient for data exchange. Degrees, minutes and seconds provide another readable angular format. Earth-centered, Earth-fixed coordinates locate the point with three Cartesian axes measured from Earth’s center. This converter applies the WGS84 ellipsoid, with a semi-major axis of 6,378,137 metres and inverse flattening of 298.257223563.

GeoJSON positions place longitude first. An optional third value represents height above the WGS84 ellipsoid. Input precision, the selected reference system and the source of height all affect how a coordinate should be interpreted. This tool formats and transforms the values you enter; it does not improve their accuracy. Read the geospatial satellite data guide before combining records from different systems.
