The purpose of this release.
SateliteAPI.com provides educational articles, topic guides, reference links and interactive browser tools. The site is intended to help you explore satellite technology and develop an informed starting point for your own work. The launch release does not provide a managed commercial API or a native satellite-tracking application.
Understand each tool’s assumptions.
The orbit explorer uses an idealized circular model with a simplified Earth and uniform rotation. It does not ingest current orbital elements or model every influence on a spacecraft. Its displayed coordinates and animation should not be used as operational ephemeris, collision-avoidance guidance, spacecraft commands or a guarantee that an object will be visible from a location.
The coordinate converter follows the reference model and units shown on its page. Entered height is ellipsoidal height, not automatically height above mean sea level. Check the required datum, axis order and units before using an export in another application.
The sample API explorer displays synthetic records, including illustrative imagery metadata. Those records do not contain access to real satellite imagery. Globe studio is an interface and motion demonstration; its stylized continents are not a geographically accurate basemap.
External providers and production work.
External documentation and data services are independently operated. Their access conditions, licenses, quotas and current behavior apply to their own resources. Follow the provider’s documentation and validate your own integration before using it for a consequential task. SateliteAPI.com does not issue credentials on their behalf.
